Abstract
Nihon Gakuzyutsu Shinkoukai(日本學術振興會, Japanese Society for the Promotion of Studies), which was the biggest foundation for the promotion of scientific researches before 1945, played an important role in constructing and maintaining the research networks of Japanese cosmic ray research groups. Especially the 10th Subcommittee for Cosmic Ray and Atomic Nucleus made the infrastructure of these fields. We can say that the substantial progress in cosmic ray research by Japanese began after the constitution of the 10th Subcommittee. In the 1930~40s, Nishina Yoshio played the most important role in Japanese cosmic ray research funded by the 10th Subcommittee of Japanese Society for the Promotion of Studies. As the leader of cosmic ray research group in the Institute for Physical and Chemical Research, he opened Japanese's eyes to do 'organized research in collaboration' and established highly efficient research network among variety of individual research groups in Japan, making of the modern Japanese physics community centering around cosmic ray physics. Nishina's research group carried out a synthetic research on cosmic ray under his instruction.
